Students may be encouraged to form study groups when at college or university as a way to help learn the material in each class. Some of the material is discussed and conveyed by instructors and some from new and used college textbooks. And for some people, study groups are an excellent idea. Some students do quite well when they have set questions or certain college textbook reading done by a set time in order to meet with their group and be able to participate. Just like there are certain times when it may be a good idea to sell textbooks such as when or if one is finished with a particular textbook and won’t need it anymore, and like there are certain times to purchase or acquire a textbooks. Going to school every day, earning their degree, while also dealing with every day life can be an enjoyable experience, and to have a group of people you can confer with if you might have questions in a class may be especially helpful. And being part of a study group, and having to be responsible for keeping up with assigned textbook reading, or assigned chapters from textbooks, or class work in order that you can bring something to the discussing may also be helpful. Sometimes, if a student is struggling with one area of the class, more often than not one of the other students in the study group can help, bringing new insight and a different perspective, often shedding light on an area of difficulty. And if a student is particularly enjoying the class, it may be likely that others can resonate with this enjoyment. Another wonderful part of being in a study group is just the constant reminder that the student is not alone, and that there are others on a similar journey, to learn, to study, and to facilitate the continuance of one’s education.
